“This is an easy to use online tool that allows you to find helpful information on telecare services in your area that could help you live independently at home for longer. The tool asks between six and 12 questions and will take about five minutes to complete. Once you have completed the tool you will be given useful information relating to your answers.” NHS Inform.
To improve fire safety within the home, linked fire detection within a property, backed up by a Home Fire Safety Visit (HFSV) ensures residents are afforded added protection. This joint approach to HFSVs will ensure that our personnel are deployed in a targeted manner.
The Telecare package that each householder receives is customised to ensure that they benefit fully from the available sensors, regardless of their disability or vulnerability. The list below is not exhaustive but does give examples of some of the groups of people who would benefit from having a Telecare system in place:
- Those who live alone
- Those with disabilities, including mental health issues such as dementia
- Those with learning difficulties
- Those with sensory impairment
- Those with limited mobility
- Those who are frail
- Those who are at risk from falling
