Father Jim Thomson receives special presentation

Father Jim Thomson has been Chaplain to the fire and rescue service in Scotland for more than 30 years.

A special ceremony was held in his honour on Monday March 28, at headquarters in Cambuslang where he was presented with a commemorative axe by Deputy Chief Officer Ross Haggart in recognition of his incredible service.

The support, comfort and time Father Jim has given - and indeed continues to give - is invaluable and much appreciated by all in SFRS, as well as by our local communities.

His 32 years of service has seen him attend many major incidents throughout Scotland which includes the Clutha helicopter tragedy and Glasgow School of Art.
