The event will be hosted by the Minister for Community Safety, Ash Denham, and is open to the public. It will give key stakeholders of the Service and also members of the local community the opportunity to ask the Board of the SFRS questions about its performance over the year.
Ms Denham said:
“The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s continued commitment to prevention, protection and response has played an important part in the decrease in the total number of fires in Scotland over the last decade.
This meeting allows Government and members of the public to look at the Service’s performance and the work that has been done over the past year. It also gives our communities and stakeholders the chance to question the SFRS Board directly and gives us the chance to show our recognition and appreciation of the vital service the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service does to keep us all safe.
Our Fire and Rescue Framework for Scotland 2016, sets out Scottish Ministers ambitions and priorities for the SFRS over the next few years, as we move out of the period of reform and into a period of transformation. The strategic priorities represent our high level ambition for what we want from a world leading, modern, skilled and dynamic fire and rescue service.
We have asked SFRS to maintain a continued focus on prevention and partnership working, whilst exploring transformative change to enable it to continue to play its full part in securing the safety and wellbeing of individuals and communities across Scotland.”
The Annual Performance Review meeting will be held on 12 September 2018 at the Westpark Conference Centre, Dundee from 10am – 12pm. The SFRS Annual Performance Review Report 2017/18, will be published shortly on the SFRS website.
