The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will this week celebrate the outstanding work of its volunteers.
Each and every day they work to protect communities, raise vital charity funding and preserve the heritage of the world’s fourth largest emergency service.
Over the next seven days we will feature just a small number of these amazing individuals including historian Jim Smith, Andy Hunter of the Firefighters Charity and volunteer firefighter Gail Cook.
We are launching this campaign as part of Volunteers Week, a celebration of notable people across the UK between June 1-7.
The SFRS will post a volunteer’s story each day on its website, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
