Schools and Community Groups
Are you a teacher, youth worker or do you run a local community group?
If so, you can help the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to reduce the risk of injury to our children and young people by raising their awareness of the serious dangers associated with fireworks and bonfires.
You can download and view our powerpoint presentation and lesson plan designed for young people from P6 to P7. The presentation should not be delivered to pupils out with this age range. We also have an additional presentation and lesson plan available for Secondary pupils to view.

SECONDARY SCHOOL (S1-S2)

In addition, the following films and guidance document from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service (NHS Trust) may provide a useful extra resource.
The ‘Junior’ film (below) may be utilised for P6 to P7 Primary pupils and should not be delivered to pupils out with this age range.
The ‘Senior’ film (below) is intended for S1 to S6 Secondary pupils. The video is a drama based on actual incidents that have occurred in Merseyside over the bonfire period. The aim is to demonstrate numerous dangers during this time and to promote areas of concern.
It also covers key safety messages and areas of best practice.
Further fire safety information and teaching resources for young people is available from Go Safe Scotland.
The UK Government website also provides a range of resources to support you to deliver key safety messages.
