How we consulted the public

Details on how the public shared their views with us

Overview

The Service Delivery Review public consultation ran for 12 weeks and and has now closed.

More than 800 people attended our public meetings and drop-in sessions. We received more than 3,500 survey responses on the proposed changes to more than 30 fire stations across Scotland.

We will now take time to analyse and consider the findings, and a report will go to SFRS Board for a final decision at the end of 2025.

Online survey

The online survey has now closed.

The consultation document provides lots of information about the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and why we need to change.

The document, which is in a PDF format, also lists all 23 options for change across Scotland, as well as the pros and cons of each one.

Public consultation meetings

We held a series of public meetings for communities potentially impacted by the proposals for change.

There were a mix of meetings types, which included in-person, online, and drop-in sessions.
