MEDIA STATEMENT – 10am, Tue 14 April
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews are dampening down hotspots following a building fire at the Woodend Hospital site on Eday Road in Aberdeen.
“Three fire appliances and a high reach appliance remain in attendance this morning, Tuesday 14 April.
“At its height around 60 firefighters from nine appliances and additional specialist resources were mobilised to the scene after we were alerted just before 9.50pm on Monday, 13 April.
“This was a large and well-developed fire within a disused office block. Crews worked overnight to contain the incident to the first floor and parts of the ground floor, preventing further fire spread.
“There are no reported casualties and members of the public are urged to continue to avoid the area.
“Nearby residents and people driving through this part of the city are still asked to take precautions by keeping windows and doors closed where smoke is visible.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews continue to tackle a fire within an office building at the Woodend Hospital site on Eday Road in Aberdeen.
“At its height around 60 firefighters from nine appliances and additional specialist resources were mobilised to scene after we were alerted to reports of a fire just before 9.50pm on Monday, 13 April.
“This was a large and well-developed fire contained to the first floor and parts of the ground floor of the former nursing accommodation, now used as an office block.
“Firefighting efforts are ongoing this morning, Monday 14 April, and emergency services will remain on scene for some time.
“There are no reported casualties and members of the public are urged to avoid the area.
“If smoke is visible, nearby residents and people driving through this part of the city should take precautions by keeping windows and doors closed.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Around 50 firefighters are currently tackling a fire at the Woodend Hospital building on Eday Road in Aberdeen.
"Nearby residents are urged to keep windows and doors closed due to large volumes of smoke, and to avoid the area at this time.
"We currently have eight fire appliance and a high-reach vehicle at the scene after receiving the call just before 9.50pm.
"Emergency services will be on scene throughout Monday night and into Tuesday morning as we deal with this protracted incident."
