Media statement: Building fire on Baronald Street, Rutherglen

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.19pm on Thursday, 7 May, to reports of a building fire on Baronald Street in Rutherglen.

"At its height, Operations Control mobilised 22 fire appliances and additional resources to the scene of a fire affecting the basement of a commercial property within a four storey tenement building.

"Crews left the scene at around 5.55pm on Friday, 8 May, after ensuring the area was made safe."
