Safeguarding
What it is, how it helps, and our safeguarding aims
What it is and how it helps
Safeguarding ensures that fire and rescue staff can identify when people are at risk because of health, mobility, living conditions or other factors.
We maintain a clear and sustained commitment to safeguarding. Our work continues to evolve as we learn from experience and strengthen how we protect vulnerable people.
Our safeguarding aims
- Further enhance staff training and awareness
We continue to improve staff training and awareness. This ensures that everyone in our organisation understands their responsibilities and can act with confidence. - Develop innovative ways to reach and support vulnerable people
We are developing new and practical ways to identify, reach, and support people who may be at risk. This includes improving how we recognise concerns and how we respond. - Continue to build stronger partnerships with other safeguarding agencies
We are also strengthening our partnerships with agencies that share our safeguarding role. Working together allows us to provide earlier support and better outcomes. - Adapt to new and emerging risks in our communities
As risks change across our communities, we will adapt our approach. This helps us stay effective and responsive to new challenges.
Our commitment
Safeguarding remains core part of our mission to protect Scotland’s communities. By continually improving our practice we can make Scotland’s communities safer, stronger, and, more resilient.
