Our values and responsibilities

We're committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the people of Scotland. 

You may think that our role is pretty straightforward, - to prevent and control fires but, we do so much more than that. 

We respond to many different emergency incidents to help keep our communities safe. These include:

  • road traffic collisions
  • rope rescue
  • water rescue
  • hazardous materials
  • flooding
  • assisting our partner agencies

The best way to deal with an emergency is to prevent it from happening in the first place. Our role starts before any 999 call is made. We work with key partners to deliver fire safety messages and create safer communities.
