Trainee firefighters celebrate graduation success in Cambuslang

Fifty eight trainee firefighters have officially graduated following the successful completion of their intensive training course with the Service.

The new recruits were presented with their certificates during a graduation ceremony on Friday, 13 June at the National Training Centre, Cambuslang.

Their achievement marks the beginning of their operational careers, where they will now join stations across the country and serve their local communities.

Trainee Firefighter Jack Hosie said: “I am elated because I thought I won’t be able to make it this far.

“I am proud of myself and my squad, and I appreciate all the support I got.”

Jack will start his new role with the White Watch at Renfrew Community Fire Station next month.

Chief Officer Stuart Stevens said: “The trainees have shown exceptional commitment and determination.

“We are proud to welcome them into the Service.”
