Board members work alongside the Service’s Strategic Leadership Team, providing independent oversight, constructive challenge, and additional insight to support effective governance and the delivery of optimal outcomes.
Mhairi Wylie, the new Chair of the SFRS Board, said:
“I am pleased to begin my role as Chair of the SFRS Board and to lead the recruitment of five new Board members.
“The recruitment represents a significant opportunity to contribute to public service, support strong leadership and to make a meaningful difference to the Service.
“We are keen to attract applicants who bring diverse skills, perspectives, and lived experiences. SFRS is committed to inclusive governance and welcomes individuals who can add diversity of thought and experience to the Board.
“This is an opportunity for people who wish to contribute their time and expertise in the public interest, and to make a real difference to the communities we serve.”
SFRS are hosting three engagement events designed to help prospective candidates understand the role, meet our team and explore how their experience aligns with what we’re looking for. These events will be held both online and in person.
