Media statement - Wildfires near Carrbridge area, Highland

Update on 11am on Sunday, 29 June:

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We are aware of a fire in the open affecting an area of land near Carrbridge, Highland, after the alarm was raised on Saturday, 28 June.

"More than 30 firefighters and a number of specialist resources are working to extinguish the fire.

"As a precaution, the public is asked to avoid the area, and if you live nearby, you are advised to close windows and doors due to the smoke in the vicinity."
