Celebrating our newest firefighters and firefighter control graduates
We celebrated the graduation of trainee wholetime firefighters and firefighter control, with squads in Newbridge and Cambuslang completing charity challenges.

Over the past few weeks, we proudly celebrated the graduation of three firefighter cohorts across the Service.
Wholetime trainee firefighters marked the end of their training journeys at our training centres in Newbridge, Edinburgh, and Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, while our firefighter control staff also celebrated their successful completion of training at a dedicated ceremony.
Ahead of their graduation, trainee firefighters from both Newbridge and Cambuslang took on impressive charity challenges to support the Fire Fighters Charity and the SFRS Family Support Trust.

The squads in Newbridge completed a walk across the Forth Road Bridge, South Queensferry. Meanwhile, two squads in Cambuslang took on a ladder climb challenge and the other three squads walked seven miles to Glasgow Green.
To make the challenge even tougher, they completed the challenges in full firefighting kit, weighing approximately 40 kilograms.
Together, the squads raised an incredible £5,688 for the Fire fighters Charity and £4,500 for the SFRS Family Support Trust.
These events not only mark the beginning of their careers at the Service, but also highlighting the spirit of teamwork and determination.
