The role is based across the service’s three control rooms in Johnstone, Dundee and Edinburgh and sees staff handling emergency calls, mobilising firefighters to emergencies and giving life-saving advice to the public.
The campaign was due to close on September 1, or after 800 applications had been received - it will now close on Wednesday, August 19 at 11.59pm.
Area Commander Libby Logan is the head of Operations Control in Scotland.
