A popular road safety initiative which aims to warn young drivers about the dangers which exist on our roads is being held in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire on 19 October.

The 'Crash Live' will take place at 7pm at the Leisure Centre car park in the town and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is encouraging new drivers and those approaching driving age and their parents to come along.

Station Manager Ben Law said: "The purpose of Crash Live is to inform up and coming young drivers of the consequences of careless and dangerous driving.

"It also focuses on making potential passengers of motor vehicles recognise their responsibility for wearing seatbelts and take responsibility if the driver is travelling too fast."

The format of the event will be a presentation from Police Scotland followed by a practical road traffic collision simulation and question and answer session with firefighters.
