Crews attend serious collision on the A78

Six appliances were sent to the scene and firefighters worked alongside paramedics and police officers to assist those involved

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews attended the scene of a serious collision on the A78 at involving a double-decker bus and a 4x4 pick-up vehicle.

A call from ambulance control was received at 2:15pm (Monday 21 March) and firefighters reached the incident three minutes later.

Six appliances were sent to the scene and firefighters worked alongside paramedics and police officers to assist those involved.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to release a casualty from the pick-up truck and an aerial rescue platform to remove people from the upper-deck of the bus.
