Ross Haggart

Chief Officer

Ross is an exceptional leader and respected fire officer who has been with the Service for more than 28 years. He has held the position of Interim Chief Officer since July 2022 and was made Chief Officer in March 2023. 

Ross began his career as a firefighter in 1994 with the former Fife Fire and Rescue Service before transferring to the former Tayside Fire Brigade four years later. He subsequently held a number of roles during his tenure with the legacy Tayside service including Sub Officer within Training and Group Commander within Fire Safety Enforcement.

Following the formation of the national service in 2013, Ross was appointed Area Manager for Prevention and Protection before taking up the post as Local Senior Officer for Stirling, Clackmannanshire and Fife.

He has since served as Deputy Assistant Chief Officer within the Strategic Planning, Performance and Communications directorate, Assistant Chief Officer and Director of Prevention and Protection and in 2020 was appointed as Deputy Chief Officer.
