What we publish
We publish two statistical bulletins annually, which are Fire Safety and Organisational Statistic and Incident Statistics. We also maintain two downloadable workbooks of our statistics and publish a guidance document to support their use.

In 2019 we ran a user consultation with an aim to help guide us to produce statistics more closely tailored to the needs of our users. Our response is now available.
Alongside each bulletin we provide:

- highlights infographic
Policy documents are also provided and updated periodically.
Statistics may be revised over time. Please always ensure you are using the latest version of the Tables and Charts workbook.

Fire Safety and Organisational Statistics 2025-26
Statistics on the SFRS workforce, fire stations, fire vehicles and appliances, attacks on fire and rescue personnel, home fire safety visits, and non-domestic fire safety activity.

Commentary:
Several errors affected the completeness and accuracy of the published local authority drilldown data. Some local authority figures were omitted and some figures for the previous year were duplicated, resulting in inaccurate local authority-level outputs. This issue affected one table in the ‘Tables and Charts’ dataset, which is intended for users to drilldown data to supplement the main statistical report. The issue did not affect the key messages presented in the publication.
What this means for users
Local authority figures taken from the original version of Table FL_LA1 should not be used, as figures were presented against the wrong area. Please download the corrected table. National figures in the statistical report are unchanged.
Preventing recurrence
Future publications will match local authorities on official geography codes rather than names, and we have added automated checks that all 32 local authorities are present and that they sum to the Scotland total before publication.
