Area Commander David Murdoch - City of Glasgow

David is the Local Senior Officer (LSO) for the City of Glasgow and is responsible for delivering all aspects of our service to the communities of Scotland’s largest city. The LSO works hard to ensure that Glasgow’s communities remain safe from fire and other emergencies as far as possible, with a robust operational response delivered from 11 Wholetime fire stations spread across the City.

A dedicated community action team work hard engaging with the community and delivering key safety messages in relation to home fire safety, road safety and other risks. Whilst the enforcement team ensure compliance with fire regulations and provide advice on fire legislation to the business community. As LSO, David engages with partner agencies to develop a joint approach to community safety and to explore options for more collaborative working.
