Psychometric testing

We use psychometric tests as part of the firefighter control recruitment process. They help us to find the most suitable people by matching their abilities and skills with the role.

Psychometric tests give us a real measure of a person's strengths and limitations. Research has consistently shown that people who do well on the tests usually go on to do well in the job itself.

This is a timed simulation that tests your ability to listen and accurately interpret information. You're required to navigate a system to record relevant information and resolve issues.

There is a minimum standard for the assessment. Only the highest performers are invited to the next stage.
