Invergordon’s Strong Men want you to Make the Call

The Stoltman Brothers help Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) deliver safety messaging to keep people safe in local communities.

Invergordon’s famous brothers are Tom, 28, who is the World’s Strongest Man and Luke, 37, Europe’s Strongest Man.

The brothers were competing in the World’s Strongest Man competition in Sacramento, California during May 24-29, 2022, where Tom retained his World's Strongest Man title.

Before they left for the competition, they took time out of their busy training schedule to help SFRS deliver some important messaging in a bid to keep people safe at home.

The SFRS Make the Call Campaign calls on communities to help stop preventable deaths in house fires – by making a five-minute phone call.

The campaign appeals to carers, family and friends of those who are at risk of serious injury or even death because of an accidental fire in their home.

If you know of anyone over the age of 50, who smokes, has mobility issues, lives alone, or uses medical oxygen – you can Make the Call to SFRS, who can help by providing a free Home Fire Safety Visit and advice.

Area Commander Derek Wilson is the Local Senior Officer for Highland. He said: “We thank the Stoltman Brothers for taking time out of their busy schedule to help us deliver this very important messaging. Sadly we do see fires which could have been preventable and we welcome any opportunity to help keep people safe in our communities. We need friends, families and carers of those who are at risk to help us to reach people who are isolated.

“We also take this opportunity to congratulate Tom on retaining his title.”

You can Make the Call on 0800 0731 999 or Text ‘FIRE’ to 80800 from your mobile phone.
