On Thursday 4 May personnel from fire services across the UK commemorated all firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty as part of the first ever Firefighters’ Memorial Day.
At midday fire crews and staff from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) congregated outside their stations and participated in a two-minute silence to mark this poignant occasion.
This inaugural memorial event marks the SFRS’s wider ambition to further develop annual Firefighters Memorial Day events.
