New Aerial Ladder Platform in operation at Inverness

Publish Date:

The new Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) based at Inverness Fire Station is now fully operational following an extensive training programme.

The Rosenbauer B32 ALP which replaces the previous Bronto Skylift ALP, will serve the communities of the Highlands and beyond.

This platform provides updated safety features to enhance community and firefighter safety. The appliance is a welcome addition to the SFRS fleet and has already made a significant contribution at operational incidents in Inverness, Invergordon and Fortrose.

Ross Nixon, Highland LSO Area Group Commander said: “The upgrade of the height vehicle in Inverness is an excellent investment by SFRS and will enhance the Service’s response to incidents where access is challenging. The ALP is an invaluable resource, which although based in Inverness, can be deployed across the entire Service area. Operational staff and fleet workshop technicians have worked together to ensure that operators have the necessary skills and technical support to ensure the appliance is ready to protect our communities when required.”
