Thanks to so many of you who have stepped up to the plate this month to help fundraise for the SFRS Family Support Trust.

225 people have registered for Steptember 2020 beating last year's figure of 180, which is fantastic.

Lots of participants have roped in children, dogs and even a bear to help them rack up the miles - often in the rain.

The team at West Linton, along with LSO Gourlay and AC Garry Mackay are not only doing their miles each day but an extra 100 burpee exercises into the bargain.

And Stewart Macpherson has even had to tend to his sheep and cut 20 acres of silage before he can get round to his two mile run - that's dedication.

Follow #Steptember on Twitter to read more about the amazing efforts of everyone who's signed up to complete either 26, 50 or 100-mile journeys within the 30 days of September.

Each participant will be helping the FST support firefighters and their families across Scotland by offering financial assistance and respite accommodation.

SFRS Area Commander Garry Mackay, who’s helping to organise the event and is a FST board member, is delighted with how things have started so far this year.

He said: "Last year everyone who took part covered a total distance of 14,400 miles but I'm sure we're going to do just as good if not better this time around.

"It's great to see everyone on social media sharing their experiences and let's all keep supporting each other throughout the month."

SFRS has teamed up with Breaking Strain Events to run this year's event and you can find out more, including a full breakdown of the entry fee and charitable donation, by visiting: https://www.breakingstrain.co.uk/steptember/
