SFRS remain on scene at an overturned bus in Cumbernauld

Three fire appliances are in attendance

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 8.45am on Thursday, 9 February to reports of a bus on fire close to Our Lady’s High School in Cumbernauld.


Three fire appliances were immediately mobilised to the scene.


The bus had overturned on its side and firefighters put out the small fire in the engine compartment.


They also tended to approximately 44 passengers who had exited the bus prior to the arrival of SFRS crews.


Firefighters remain at the scene.
