Fire at boat shed in Portsoy, Aberdeenshire

Crews from Banff and Macduff attended the fire in the town's Shore Street yesterday afternoon


Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to respond to reports of a fire at The Boat Shed, Shore Street, Portsoy at 3.46pm yesterday (16 November 2015).

The fire in the single-storey building (20m x 8m) appeared to be located within the roof space. Crews in breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to tackle the fire.

Firefighters also used small tools to cut away sections to check for signs of fire spread. The fire was under control by 4.30pm and the last appliance left the scene at 5.18pm.

The fire is not believed to have been started deliberately.
