Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to respond to reports of a fire in an abandoned property in Lossiemouth's Prospect Terrance last night (22 October 2015).
Operations Control received the call at 7.10pm regarding a fire on the first floor of the detached property (15m x 15m).
Two appliances from Elgin, one from Lossiemouth, one from Fochabers, the height vehicle and supporting pump from Central in Aberdeen, one appliance from Rothes, the welfare unit from Huntly, incident command unit from Altens and the water carrier from Buckie were all involved in the incident.
Firefighters used three main jets, two hose reel jets and a monitor on the height vehicle to tackle the fire which was brought under control by 9,26pm.
Crews then dampened the area down and a presence remained at the scene throughout the night to check for any remaining hot spots.
This morning there are concerns for the stability of the building and both Police and fire are at the scene. The fire investigation unit will today begin work to establish the cause of the blaze.
