Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to attend a house fire in the Sheddocksley area of Aberdeen earlier today (4 August 2015).

Control received the call at around 1.38pm to a semi-detached house in Windford Square.

Two appliances from North Anderson Drive were sent to the scene. The fire, which was located within the kitchen, was out on arrival.

The female resident required treatment for smoke inhalation and firefighters also rescued a dog from the property, which was given oxygen therapy and placed in the care of a vet.

Crews used small tools to cut away fire damaged areas to ensure there was no fire spread.
