Appliances from the town responded to the call to the Score Europe premise in Glenugie Road this morning

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to assist a man who had become trapped following an accident at an industrial site in Peterhead this morning.

Two appliances from Peterhead were sent to the scene at Score Europe in the town’s Glenugie Road at 11.38am (29 July 2015).

On arrival crews were faced with a man who had become trapped following an industrial accident.

Firefighters used chocks and blocks, hydraulic rescue equipment and an on-site crane to free the man. He was then placed in the care of paramedics and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious multiple injuries.

Coincidentally the crews were actually carrying out working at height training at the station when they received the call, so they were already kitted out for such a rescue.

The Health and Safety Executive have been made aware of the incident and Police Scotland were also in attendance.
