Three fire engines from Dunfermline attended

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended a road traffic collision on the B981 North Road, Inverkeithing on Saturday afternoon (13 June).

Three appliances from Dunfermline fire station were mobilised to the scene by Thornton Operations Control after the collision, involving one car, was reported by the Ambulance Service at 3.58pm.

On arrival firefighters discovered the vehicle down a 10 foot embankment approximately 20 feet from the roadway with two people trapped. Crews got to work with hydraulic rescue equipment removing the roof and doors to safely remove the two casualties.

The casualties, one male and one female both 80 years of age, were removed with suspected minor injuries and transported to Victoria hospital by Scottish Ambulance Service crews.
