Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews in Dundee rescued a man from a flat fire in Dundee's Menzieshill area last night (27 May 2015).

Control received a call about a fire in a basement flat in the city's Deveron Crescent at 10.14pm

Two appliances from Blackness Road and one from MacAlpine Road were sent to the scene and firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

They then recovered a male from the property who was suffering from severe smoke inhalation and placed him in the care of paramedics.

Crews then used a PPV (positive pressure ventilation) fan to ventilate the property.
