Open day at Livingston fire station

Come along on Saturday 21 March between 11-3.30pm.
Livingston fire station is opening their doors to the public for an Emergency Services open day on Saturday 21 March.
Running from 11am – 3.30pm, this admission free event welcomes the local Community to enjoy a selection of emergency services vehicles, practical demonstrations and community safety advice. Five Sister Zoo and Deep Sea World are also attending with stalls and exhibits -Fun activities for all run by the local crews and other partner agencies.
Watch Manager Andrew Anderson said: “This open day is sure to be a great free family day out that is not to be missed. Police, Ambulance and fire engines will be on display and visitors will be able to see the huge range of equipment that are carried on board each appliance which allows fire fighters to deal with any emergency from firefighting, attending road traffic collisions, working at height to water rescue.
“Throughout the day the crew will be running a series of demonstrations using pumps and ladders and hydraulic rescue equipment to give a taste of what work we do every day. We also have a variety of stalls including face painting, tombola, and a BIG PRIZE raffle.”
While the aim of the day is to have fun, show people the inside of a fire station and pass on advice regarding home fire safety, the crew will also be fundraising The Fire Fighters Charity who enhance the quality of life for serving and retired firefighters, fire personnel and their families. We have some fantastic raffle and auction prizes. We are also giving a percentage of our fundraising to Five Sisters Zoo to help them fund a new Lion Enclosure.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service - community safety staff will also be on hand to give advice about fire safety, answer questions and arrange free home fire safety visits.

I would like to pass on our a very sincere thanks to local businesses who have generously donated gifts and vouchers to help with the fundraising efforts”
