Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to respond to a house fire at a flat in Aberdeen’s Summerfield Place at 1.47pm yesterday afternoon (17 March 2015).

Two appliances from Central Fire Station and one from Altens were sent to the scene of the blaze on the ground floor of the three storey tenement building.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet and during a search of the premises found one male sadly deceased inside the property. Crews used a PPV (Positive Pressure Ventilation) fan to ventilate the property.

A joint investigation between specialist fire investigators and Police Scotland is taking place to establish the cause of the fire.
