SFRS attend kitchen fire at Inverness pub

Two appliances from Inverness were sent to the scene at the Auctioneers pub in Church Street

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to attend a kitchen fire at a pub in Church Street, Inverness yesterday afternoon (13 October 2014).

The fire at the Auctioneers public house was reported to control at 4.09pm and two appliances from Inverness were sent to the scene.

Staff attempted to extinguish the cooker fire, but were forced to wait for the arrival of the fire service. Firefighters in breathing apparatus dealt with the small fire using an extinguisher.

Employees were evacuated as a precaution and Police Scotland closed the road for a short time. The kitchen suffered smoke damage.

The last appliance left the scene at 4.48pm and no one was injured.
