Crews rescue injured man from a roof in Aberdeen

Firefighters had to rescue a man who had fallen whilst working on the roof of his tenement flat in Aberdeen this afternoon (14 October 2014).

The incident, which happened in Bank Street, Aberdeen, was reported to control at 1.15pm.

Two appliances from North Anderson Drive, one from Altens and the aerial rescue platform from Central were sent to the scene.

The man had been working on his roof when he slipped and injured his leg. Crews used the aerial rescue platform to reach the man and lowered him to safety.

He was working on the roof of the three storey tenement which was about 25 feet from the ground.

He did not require medical attention at the scene.
