Crews attended serious road traffic collision on A980 Banchory to Torphins road

Two appliances from Banchory attended the collision in which two people died

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to attend a serious two vehicle road traffic collision on the A980 Banchory to Torphins road yesterday (20 August 2014).

The incident, involving a car and a van, happened near Glassel at 7.18pm and two appliances from Banchory attended.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free two people from the car, both of whom sadly died.

The occupant of the van was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police Scotland were also in attendance.
