SFRS attend serious road traffic collision on A87 at Sconser

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended a serious two vehicle road traffic collision on the A87 at Sconser, Isle of Skye yesterday.

The incident happened at 4.21pm yesterday (Monday 28 July 2014) and control sent one appliance from Broadford and one from Portree to the scene.

Crews used hydraulic spreaders and cutting equipment to remove a male occupant from one of the vehicles, who had sustained fatal injuries. Two other casualties were also released by firefighters and taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police Scotland were also in attendance and the road was closed for several hours whilst officers carried out a full road collision investigation.
