Serious road traffic collision on A87 Invergarry to Kyle of Lochalsh road

Four people were involved in the single vehicle collision near Invergarry and one person sadly died

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to attend a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A87 Invergarry to Kyle of Lochalsh road yesterday.

The incident was reported to control at around 5:37pm and happened about five miles south of the Bunloyne junction. 

One of the four occupants sustained fatal injuries. Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and used cutting equipment and spreaders to remove one casualty, who was airlifted to Raigmore with serious injuries. 

The remaining two casualties, who were treated by paramedics at the scene, were then transferred by ambulance to the Belford Hospital in Fort William.

One appliance from Fort Augustus was called to the scene along with another from Fort William and third from Spean Bridge. The last crew left the scene at 7.11pm.

The road was closed for a number of hours while Police Scotland carried out a full road collision investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not been spoken to by Police are being urged to call them on 101.
