Firefighters free elderly woman following road traffic collision on A9

The three vehicle collision happened just past a long stretch of dual carriageway before Dalwhinnie

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) attended a three vehicle road traffic collision on the A9 just south of Dalwhinnie this morning (30 July 2014).

The collision, which was reported at 10.16am, happened just north of the long stretch of dual carriageway.

One appliance from Kingussie, one from Aviemore and one from Newtonmore attended.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove a door and removed an elderly female from one of the vehicles. The injured woman was taken by road ambulance to hospital for treatment.

There were no other casualties and the last appliance left the scene
