Firefighters and paramedics rescued a woman from her car after it crashed into a wall in North Lanarkshire on Sunday afternoon (27 April).

Appliances from Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch community fire stations attended the incident on the B8023 in Kilsyth shortly before 2pm.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews were mobilised following a request for assistance from Scottish Ambulance Service control and reached the scene around six minutes later.

In a joint road rescue operation firefighters deployed hydraulic cutting equipment as paramedics stabilised the casualty.

After being safely released from the vehicle she was moved to a waiting ambulance and taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
