Crews from Perth used hydraulic cutting equipment to free two people

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to attend the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the B958, near Clashbenny Farm, St. Maddoes at the weekend.

Two appliances from Perth responded to the call which was received at 11.23pm on Saturday (22 March 2014).

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to remove two people from one of the two vehicles involved in the collision. There was one fatality in the second vehicle.

Both casualties were placed in the care of paramedics and taken to hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland carried out a road traffic collision investigation into the incident.
