Firefighters have managed to bring a large fire at DC George garage in Regent Street, Keith under control.

They were called to the scene at around 8.52am this morning after a report was made to Aberdeen Control.

Pumps from Rothes, Dufftown, Fochabers and Huntly attended, along with the height vehicle and an appliance from Aberdeen and the water carrier from Buckie.

The A96 was closed by Police Scotland and diversions put in place.

Firefighters had to be careful due to the presence of cylinders and acetylene. They are currently cooling the acetylene and the fire is almost extinguished. There are still ground monitors in use.
