SFRS free man from machinery following industrial accident in Fochabers

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Baxters factory in Fochabers earlier today after receiving reports of an industrial accident involving a man.

Two appliances, one from Elgin and one from Fochabers responded to the call at around 10.57am this morning (30 January 2014).

Firefighters were faced with a situation whereby a man had become caught in machinery. Crews used a reciprocating saw to cut away machinery and successfully managed to release him.

Scottish Ambulance Service were also on the scene and the man was taken by air ambulance to hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland were also in attendance and the matter has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive.
