Firefighters tackle building fire in Bishopton, Renfrewshire

At around 2:45pm this afternoon (Friday 27 December), the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Fire Control in Johnstone received several 999 calls informing them of a large building fire within the Bishopton area of Renfrewshire. 

As a result of the call, a number of fire appliances from Renfrew and Clydebank Community Fire Stations were mobilised to the address. 

The first fire appliance arrived within minutes and crews were faced with a developing fire within in a large farm storage building.  The Incident Commander immediately requested additional resources, which resulted in a further fire appliances being mobilised to the scene from Paisley, Johnstone and Milngavie Community Fire Stations.

Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus sets, are currently fighting the fire using four main fire fighting water jets.
