Two car road traffic collision in the Scottish Borders

Crews used cutting gear to remove one casualty

Crews from Kelso fire station were called to a two car road traffic collision yesterday (24th October) at 4.25pm on A6089, Nenthorn in the Scottish Borders.

Firefighters managed to safely release one trapped female casualty from the vehicle by removing the roof and side of car with specialist hydraulic cutting gear.  They transferred the casualty onto a spinal board and passed her into the care of the ambulance service.

Firefighters also provided first aid to a female casualty from the other vehicle who had managed to get herself out prior to our arrival.

Both casualties were taken to Borders General Hospital by ambulance.
