Fire service attended two separate road traffic collisions on the A82 at Spean Bridge

Firefighters had to use hydraulic cutting equipment

At midday on Sunday 27 October 2013 firefighters were called to assist at a three vehicle road traffic collision on the A82 at Spean Bridge.

Two appliances from Fort William attended along with one from Spean Bridge. Firefighters used cutting equipment and a spinal board to remove a man and a woman from one of the three cars involved. 

Then at 9.14pm on Sunday, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service responded to calls  about a one vehicle road traffic collision on the A82, one mile south of Spean Bridge.

Two appliances from Fort William and one from Spean Bridge attended the incident. Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to remove one man from the vehicle. The man sadly died.

Police Scotland were also in attendance and are carrying out road collision investigations.
