Firefighters are continuing to deal with a blaze at an industrial unit in Aberdeen's Muggiemoss Road.

SFRS received a call from Police Scotland at around 2am this morning (30 October 2013) after patrolling officers had noticed a fire at the Spires Business Unit.

Two appliances and a height vehicle from Central Fire Station, two appliances from North Anderson Drive, 1 appliance from Dyce, one from Kintore, a water carrier from Stonehaven and a welfare pod from Inverurie attended the incident. There was also an Incident Command Unit from Altens at the scene.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two main jets to deal with the fire throughout the night and at present two appliances remain at the scene. SFRS is now carrying out dampening down operations and checking for any remaining hot spots.

A fire investigation will be carried out in due course when the building is deemed safe to enter.
