Firefighters from Helensburgh, Cove and Garelochhead rescued a woman from a car after it left the roadway at Rahane in Argyll and Bute on Thursday afternoon (24 October).

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews responded shortly after 1pm with those first on scene arriving to find the vehicle had come to rest in trees.

A woman, who was a passenger in the car, was still inside and told firefighters that she was experiencing pain.

SFRS crews worked to ensure her safe release from the stricken vehicle, operating side-by-side with ambulance personnel who provided her with treatment.

After being freed from the car the casualty was placed in a waiting ambulance and taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

A second woman, who had been able to leave the vehicle, was treated at the scene for shock.
