SFRS crews battle blaze at Kirkintilloch.
A large fire within an unoccupied industrial unit in Kirkintilloch saw around 40 firefighters tackle the blaze.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) Operations Control received several 999 calls around 6:30pm on Tuesday 29 October, reporting a building on fire at Woodilee Road in the East Dunbartonshire town.
A crew from nearby Kirkintilloch Community Fire Station arrived to discover a large industrial unit, measuring approximately 40 metres by 25 metres, was well-alight.
They were quickly supported by firefighters from across East Dunbartonshire, Glasgow City and North Lanarkshire, with crews working to bring the flames under control and protect surrounding units within the industrial site.
SFRS crews surrounded the deep-seated fire, which had taken hold within a large quantity of waste materials, using high-pressure water jets and an aerial appliance to extinguish the flames.
Dampening down operations continued into the early hours of the morning and a thermal imaging camera was used to identify hot-spots within the building.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire will be conducted by SFRS and Police Scotland.
